What to Expect at Vivid Beauty Studio
Before You Come In
Hair should be at least a quarter of an inch long — roughly the size of a grain of rice. If you have been shaving, give it two to three weeks of growth before your appointment. Do not trim before you come in.
Gently exfoliate the area the night before using an exfoliating glove or cleanser. This helps the wax grip the hair and improves results. If you are sensitive to discomfort, taking your preferred over-the-counter pain reliever about 30 minutes before your appointment can help.
During Your Appointment
You will undress from the waist down for Brazilian and bikini services. Everything below that is handled by your esthetician, who will guide you through positioning. The room is private and the door is closed for the entire appointment. If you have questions or need anything adjusted, just say so.
The appointment itself is thorough and efficient. Expect it to take 30 to 45 minutes for a Brazilian, depending on hair texture and the area covered.
After Your Appointment
For the first 48 hours, avoid the three S’s: sun, sweat, and sex. Tight clothing can also irritate freshly waxed skin, so loose-fitting clothes are a good call for the rest of the day.
Exfoliate two to three times a week starting 48 hours after your appointment to prevent ingrown hairs. Moisturize regularly. Your esthetician will recommend specific products before you leave.
Some redness and minor sensitivity is completely normal and typically fades within a few hours. If you experience bumps around the hair follicles, a cool compress and a gentle soothing oil will help settle the skin.
