Redness and irritation after a Brazilian wax are common reactions. The process involves pulling hair from the root, which can temporarily irritate the hair follicles and surrounding skin. Additionally, the waxing process may cause some minor inflammation and redness due to the removal of hair and the sensitivity of the skin in that area.
Fortunately, any discomfort tends to subside within a few hours. To alleviate any discomfort right away I will use an after wax oil. The after wax oil will calm and soothe your skin right away. If you really want to treat yourself while reducing any discomfort you can add a Vajacial service or a Hydrojelly Mask to your Brazilian wax.
After you’ve left the appointment you’ll want to follow the aftercare instructions that were provided as well as using the aftercare products you purchased. Part of the aftercare is to avoid tight clothing and activities that may further irritate the area immediately after waxing. If you follow aftercare instructions you will have a smooth, irritation free waxing experience.
All in all, redness and irritation are normal reactions to Brazilian waxing. However, if redness persists or is accompanied by other concerning symptoms, it’s recommended to consult with your waxing professional or a dermatologist for personalized advice.
