How Vivid Beauty Studio Came to Be
I have called Ocala home my entire life. I have moved around, spent time in other parts of Florida, but I always come back. I have watched this city grow from a place people drove through into a place people actually choose, and I feel lucky to have grown alongside it.
My love for beauty started early. In high school, I enrolled in the cosmetology program through Marion Technical Institute. I was genuinely excited about color, about hair, about all of it. I had big plans.
Then an instructor told me I would never make real money focusing on hair color. Just like that, the wind went out of it. I had bills. I had responsibilities. So I pivoted.
I spent the next 13 years in the wireless industry. It was stable. It paid. And every single day, I thought about how I would rather be somewhere else, doing something that actually lit me up.
Thirteen years is a long time to keep a dream on the shelf. But some things are worth waiting for.
What finally pushed me to try again was my own waxer. Watching her work, seeing the confidence she had, the real connection she built with her clients, I thought: that. That is what I want.
So I went back to Marion Technical Institute and got my Esthetician License. This time I made a decision I have never regretted. I went straight out on my own. No clients, no guarantees, just a license, a studio space, and the belief that I could build something real.
That was four years ago. Today, Vivid Beauty Studio has been named Best Waxing Business in 2025 and 2026, and I still get the same feeling every time a client walks out of that room feeling more like themselves than they did when they walked in.
This was always what it was supposed to be.
